Kye Stopka – plays 2 years above his age group!

Kye has been working under Con's guidance since January 2010. We were very fortunate to find Con while Kye was still so young. I had become frustrated with the lack of expert coaching for young players through the normal channels, as we were willing to commit the time and effort required to help him progress.

Now 18 months and 750 hours of work since starting with Con, Kye has gone from being a player who loved the game but had many technical deficiencies to now being able to shoot and complete drills equally well with both feet and a touch that is to an elite level.

He plays 2 years above his age for his club and recently trialed successfully to be chosen in the Queensland 'Skills Acquisition Program' squad 1 year above his age group.

Once Con had assessed Kye he gave us a series of drills and exercises to work on. We took the information and worked very hard following the instructions to the letter, Giving Con feedback on a weekly basis.

Sessions with Con were limited to a couple of sessions every 3 to 4 weeks as we live 2 hours drive from Con's base on the Gold Coast. Con reassessed Kye each time we saw him and redesigned the drills to match his improvement and keep him challenged.

Within 6 months and roughly 250 hours of practice the results are undeniably obvious. Con advised us to record the content and length of each session in a training diary and regularly film portions of Kye's sessions. It was great advice as it gave us a reference of his progress and became an important motivational tool for Kye and myself.

There are still many years of training to complete and challenges to overcome for him achieve his goals.

I believe the two main factors to his continued success are expert guidance and tuition from Con and a consistently high level of practice.

We are thrilled with the results and enjoy working with Con, who has a wealth of knowledge and experience which he communicates exceptionally well.

My son is testament to this.
